The Balloon Artist and Suppliers Association of Australasia Inc. is a non profit trade group representing businesses and sole traders who derive income from trading within the balloons, party supplies, party hire, floristry, special events and entertainer industries. Originally each State launched their own association BASA SA, BASA NSW, BASA- QLD and BASA-WA to collectively operate as BASA-Australasia for the purpose of staging the Australasian Balloon Convention every 2 years.
HOW DOES IT OPERATE?
As required by the State Government Department of Fair Trade, BASA-A is a registered incorporated association.
Members elect an executive committee and each State has a continual National Representative. These elected members then volunteer their time to administer BASA-A and to formulate policies and activities for the benefit of the entire membership. The elected Treasurer administers all income and expenditure.

THE COST OF ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP?
There are basically three levels of membership. Full membership gains all benefits and services mentioned above as well as the authority to vote at General Meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) usually held in July.
Eligible Full Members are those in the balloon, party, special events, entertainment, floristry or other associated industries who have an A.B.N. Members can be trading as; manufacturers, wholesale suppliers, retailers, decorators, consultants or service providers.
New Membership - $430.00
Membership Renewal - $250.00
Note: Members are registered and listed by business name and address. Each full member must nominate the person eligible to vote on behalf of the business listed as the member. (small variations between States may apply)
PROPOSED SHORT TERM GOALS
Electronic Monthly communication of events and activities
of all states with promotional deals from supplier members,
with features of world and national balloon news.
Provide and encourage greater use of Logo's and environment information Unify State membership rules and charges Provide Suppliers index to members.
Plan Education days Australia wide. Provide greater exposure of the Balloon Industry image to corporate, State and Federal Governments. Develop methods of financial income for National Body to assist in funding State programmes. Index of Suppliers Index to Education Presenters Foster National communication Industry Recognition Awards
LONG TERM GOALS
Complete the Australian Accreditation Programme Grow business relationships with Industry Suppliers.
Small business network development with affiliated Associations. Network with Government Bodies Develop a relationship with known charity
